Following a very successful veterinary career in Australia, Dr Straw trained at the Animal Cancer Centre at Colorado State University (CSU) from 1986 to 1988 and was on faculty there until 1995. The Centre provides a model for the radiation facility at BVSC – The Animal Hospital. He is intimately aware of the function and running of a comparative oncology unit and is experienced in grantsmanship, and implementation of research using pet animals with spontaneous cancer.

Dr Straw has been trained in surgical oncology at CSU which is the only veterinary institution with a coordinated and integrated medical, surgical and radiation oncology program. He has served on faculty at the same institution and was a key player in a very large NCI and NIH funded program of projects in comparative oncology clinical research. His training and experience is uniquely tailored to the goals of The Foundation.

In his long and distinguished career Rod has been a guest and full time university lecturer for over 30 years, conducted over 35 funded research papers, committed over 30 years to research, published more than 90 research papers, authored 25 book chapters, written over 70 abstracts, presented at over 120 conferences and seminars, and appeared in dozens of educational videos and webinars.

More importantly, his skill and dedication has treated, prolonged and saved the lives of thousands of very special patients and much loved companions.

Charles is a Chartered Accountant and Partner at HLB Mann Judd with almost 30 years' experience in public practice.His expertise spans a broad spectrum of accounting services from business advisory, taxation planning and compliance, to strategic and operational planning and advice - across a diverse range of businesses and industry sectors. A Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia, Charles holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland.

Director of Australian Animal Cancer Foundation

Lynn is an accomplished research and development leader with over 20 years of involvement in life sciences and medical research. She brings her experience in mammalian genomics, clinical research, and funding acquisition to The Foundation. As the Technical Director for Xing Technologies, Lynn is responsible for business and research development for life sciences applications. As an Adjunct Fellow with UQ, she continues to be involved in academic cancer research and postgraduate student supervision.

Australian Animal Cancer Foundation is a not for profit research charity dedicated to fighting cancer and finding a cure for cancer. Our pets may hold the answers allowing cancer cures in people and our beloved pets. The goal is to find these answers.
